Momaa , My rockstar Moma

Whatever I am today, whatever I have achieved...I owe to my mom. She has taught me well. My mom is not the typical mom who would sit at home and while away time gossiping or watching TV, she writes plays , songs , poems and spends her time creatively. She is the working-from-home-kind-of-mother ( writer by profession), faces the household chores. But she's cool. Mama is very intelligent. I admire her for what she knows and for being so cool about it. Ask her any question and she is always beaming with the right answer. (I wonder how she does that). She often challenges my values, my convictions - making sure that I keep the right values close to my heart always, and get rid of the things that destroy both the body, mind and spirit. I remember watching her teach my younger sister ,the type who would never give up until she fully understands the prose and poetry to be discussed the next day. I do the work I do because I love what I do. Being paid fairly for the work I do is only right I believe but sometimes a big thank you is worth more. When I feel that the person who's got a good story is thrilled with it or when someone says "wow that was a great article, thank you". That's when I fly high. But it is a nice thought and makes me appreciate the people I work with and also myself and the work I do. What do you prefer, a big fat check or a big thank you?

Live it up!

When you give today your best, there is no time to think about yesterday or tomorrow. Life’s best moments are here and now. Every second of it is a miracle. You can’t change anything that happened yesterday, and tomorrow will take care of itself. How often do we stop ourselves and just enjoy life? Inhale the fresh air, listen to the birds and enjoy the view? Not as often as we should really, instead we occupy our minds with thoughts about how we are going to pay the bills, what we are having for dinner, who will do the dishes, how to loose weight, what is showing on TV and about tomorrow. Perhaps you live where the view isn't as beautiful , few of us do, but that doesn't matter. What matters is how we appreciate the things we have around us. When did you last stop to listen to the sound of the nature, hear birds singing, trees swaying, wind blowing? Just listen and think of nothing, live the moment. A great affirmation: “I will live everyday with energy and passion. I wil...
