A passing storm

You are a storm. Off in the distance.. I can see the dark brooding clouds The energetic flashes of lightning But you are off in the distance.. I can't hear the crack of thunder or  I can't smell the rain as it hits the hot earth.. I long for the monsoon in dry land.. But the winds take you elsewhere You are a storm. A brutish force of nature Beautiful in your chaos.. Your lightning may strike, You can create fire. Your rains may flood, You can carve rivers. But always.. Life thrives in the aftermath of your destruction. You are an artist. And I admire from the distance.

a few things i've learned

- tell your friend that you love her shirt - laugh!! laugh a lot and never hold it back!! And giggle for no reason :) - forgive - if someone or something is upsetting you, take a deep breath and let it go. don't let if affect you or how you treat others - ask people questions about themselves. it makes them feel good -cry, sometimes you need to - play with your little nephew - focus on your energy - crawl into your parents bed and talk to them - be selfless no matter what - take a million pictures but dont forget to live them. - smile until your cheeks hurt -look at the stars - irritate your little sister - always sing the song at the top of your lungs -be open to experiencing new things and new feelings -treasure your mom. she loves you more than anything in the world. - appreciate the beauty that earth brings - just KISS him - don't be afraid to believe in something - be spontaneous with people you love - say yes. dance in the rain. go on a roller coaste

I am having a love affair, and it’s been going on for a while now. I guess if I really think about it, it all started when I was a just a child. I didn’t experience the ocean until I was ten years old, but I’ll never forget that first time. Upon arriving at the beach, I literally threw my bags at my aunt and headed straight to the beach   The sun was just beginning to set. Reflections of shimmering gold and deep orange lit up my face and beamed into my eyes as I ran as fast as I could towards the ocean. I didn’t bother to strip my clothes off . The instant my legs hit the water, I fell head first under a “big” not-so-blue wave. My entire body was immersed and instantly new sensations never experienced before washed over me. I felt as if I was being reborn; as if I was soaking i

--> I am still recovering from the POX at my parents, the older I get, the more gratitude I feel toward my mom and dad. They have always shown me (and my sister) unconditional love and a whole lot of support throughout our lives and I am sincerely thankful. The other day I was thinking on some of the life lessons I’m about to tell you about and it popped in my head to just write a post about this. Maybe some of these lessons that my parents have passed on to me. Lesson 1 from my Mom: Choose joy everyday. My mom is probably the most joyful person I’ve ever known and most of my friends would vouch for that. This doesn’t mean she’s never sad or doesn’t get upset. She’s human. 🙂 But she chooses to live a life absolutely filled with joy. And I think it took me a while to understand something really basic about this—that it’s a choice. She could decide to focus on the negative, or just consider things mundane or ordinary. But instead my mom will find so much joy in s
